My latest find in Covington...Europa!

Larry and I love finding new places for lunch - the same old gets boring after a while. On a stroll through MainStrasse we came across Europa.

While unassuming it does have one eye-catching feature as soon as you pop your head in the door. Would this grab you?

Yeah - GELATO! As far as the eye can see - yummy gelato! They have fruit on the left and creams on the right. Best part for us - no eggs!

The surprise for us is that there's a whole back area for lunch! After sneaking past the counter - they seated us in a really nice, bright room for our lunch...what a treat!

Around the room you'll find glass and paintings from local artists - all for sale. With my upcoming nuptials - feel free to stop by and pick this up for me! haha

They have a great menu with lots of paninis as well as salads, soup and other sandwiches. Larry was going for The Greek Tycoon ($6.95) but they were out of pitas so they panini'd it for him. Thank God they did - it was phenomenal! Seriously - when we go back - we're getting it this way.

I got a 1/2 Meditteranean (hummus, artichoke hearts, cucumber, roasted red pepper, lettuce and tomato) with a small salad ($8.95). This sandwich was again - delicious! I couldn't get enough of it! I got a "you pick two" so I could try more things...

On the salad side I went for the Marie Antoinette (walnuts, goat cheese, red onions, avocado and raspberry vinaigrette). Again - STUNNER. I'm a sucker for goat cheese but this was so delicious. I would also have NEVER chosen a raspberry vinaigrette - I mean - really? But I loved it!

They also have a wide range of sides - I can't even begin to list them all but they do all sound great. Most have mayo - so Larry went for homemade applesauce. It was good but not worth taking up room in my belly when there's gelato to be had!

This picture says it all. GOOD.

Damn it was. I'm a big fan of Dojo Gelato at Findlay Market and still like theirs a bit more...but Larry prefers the Europa. He's stuck on the oreo gelato and the servings are giant with big chunks of oreo. Definitely save room for dessert!

Or - stop at another place for lunch and grab some for dessert. I can't wait to try the fruit gelatos as they looked soooo good too!

Why Should You Go? Gelato, panini, gelato, homemade sides, gelato, friendly staff and oh yeah - GELATO!
