Following our fabulous time on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Larry and I decided we needed to find something similar a little closer to home - so we found that Cincinnati has a number of microbreweries just waiting to be discovered!
These were actually how they started out - selling growlers at Kroger and nearby gas stations. It's great to see them keep this tradition going. The growler will cost you $4, then $8 to fill it and it has about 5 beers in it.
Larry tried a little glass of the amber ale and it was done. He found his new beer. We now visit every Saturday to fill that growler!
What they also have is a tour! The tours are Saturdays at 1pm and 230pm - you can call and reserve a spot or just show up and they'll probably make room for you.
They have some pretty impressive kettles and are building more so they can up production. It was interesting seeing the differences and similarities from the bourbon tour.
Then it was back to the tap room to fill our growler and get on the road.
But not without a picture for the road - of course!
And there's Larry's baby - tucked in safely - ready for the ride home.
If you're looking for something fun to do on a weekend (adult's only guys) - check out Mt. Carmel. We're such area travelers - it cracks us up - whenever we go - the regulars exclaim "THEY CAME ALL THE WAY FROM MT HEALTHY!!!" And we'll keep coming...for sure!
