One of a Kind Cincinnati Event! Wyoming Historical Home Tour May 13

It's that time of year again - for the Cincinnati Preservation Association Spring House Tour! I enjoy this tour every year and have enjoyed it with someone different every year! I've taken my husband, my mother-in-law, and various friends.

On Saturday, May 13, you have the chance to tour homes that you'll likely never get to see again. These are private homes (and a couple of churches this year) that are open just one time! I can't be the only one that loves seeing homes - I mean it's why we watch House Hunters - right?

This year the home tour is in Wyoming!

What: Cincinnati Preservation Association Spring House Tour 2017
Who: Cincinnati Preservation Association and the Wyoming Historical Society
When: Saturday, May 13 from 1-5 pm
Where: Wyoming Historic Village District
Lead Tour Sponsor: Cincinnati Historic Homes powered by the Sanregret Team

This year CPA is partnering with the Wyoming Historical Society (WHS) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Wyoming Historic Village district by touring five amazing homes and two historic churches.

Wyoming's village is notable for its number of preserved historic structures, but unique in the wide variety of styles of architecture represented throughout.  The 300-building-district is located in the heart of
Wyoming’s village area and is described by the Ohio Historic Preservation Office as “a one-of-a-kind community with an extremely impressive array of architecture.”

This tour highlights this architectural variety by featuring five homes ranging from an Italianate beauty built in 1865 to a charming bungalow constructed circa 1925.  Featured on the tour is the Palmer-Stearns House, a High Italianate mansion atop a rolling 1.6-acre estate.  One of the oldest and most historically important homes in the village, the 7,000-square-foot mansion has been beautifully restored and is a must-see.

Two churches—one Victorian Gothic, one Mid-Century Modern-- round out the tour and will give visitors a sense of the community and breadth of architectural styles.  Tour attendees will enjoy wandering the tree-lined lanes in this truly walkable community.

Will call for the tour will be at the Wyoming Civic Center.  Parking will be available at the Civic Center, the Wyoming Middle School, and along the streets throughout the district.

Tickets: Advanced purchase is recommended.  Cost is $30 for CPA and WHS members and $35 for nonmembers if purchased in advance, $40 for all day of the tour.  Purchase tickets by calling 513-721-4506 ext. 2 or online at  Cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard are welcome.
