Apple Goat Cheese Salad is my favorite side salad for nearly any meal. The crunchy tart green apple is so great with that creamy goat cheese. Plus if you add a grilled chicken breast – you’ve got a whole meal.

Goat Cheese & Apple Salad Ingredients
Simple ingredients make up this delicious summer salad! Here’s what you’ll need:
- 4 cups mixed spring greens – you can use any greens you like – I like the spring greens for the variety
- 1/4 cup Praline Pecans – I love the ones you can buy at the store – but you can also make your own with this recipe for Cinnamon Sugar Pecans
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries – any variety of Craisins or dried cherries would be great!
- 1/4 cup goat cheese crumbles – I prefer the goat cheese in a log vs the pre-crumbled
- 1 green apple, thinly sliced – I would never eat plain Granny Smith apples – but the tartness is great with this salad!
- Favorite Vinaigrette – you can make your own or use a store-bought. My favorite is Ken’s Lite Raspberry Walnut

Recipe Variations
There are a few easy tweaks you can make to make this salad special for your family. Here are some easy swaps!
- Nuts – not a fan of candied pecans, you can swap out walnuts – or use plain pecans, hazelnuts or almonds instead of the candied ones
- Balsamic Vinegar & Olive Oil – don’t have a vinaigrette made up sprinkle on balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and black pepper – or whisk it all together with a little dijon mustard and honey to make a quick balsamic dressing
- Swap the Cheese – not a fan of goat cheese? Salty feta cheese crumbles would be delicious as well as blue cheese.
- Greens – swap out the mixed greens for arugula, romaine or green and red leaf lettuce
- Vegetables – add more veggies like sliced cherry tomatoes or diced red onion
- Protein – Grill chicken breast, salmon or shrimp and add on top of the salad for a complete meal
How to make Apple Goat Cheese Salad
This salad couldn’t get any easier! I like to add the goat cheese at the end so it doesn’t get lost and everybody gets plenty!
- Place greens into large bowl
- Add sliced apple, cranberries and pecans. Toss salad.
- Top with goat cheese and Vinaigrette and serve.
