This was delicious! I tried it with Texas Toast bread and a thinner bread and both were great but I will cook the thinner bread for 3 minutes per side to prevent the crust from getting too hard. This recipe will definitely be used again and again

I also have a wire basket. So will use Parch. paper too. Good idea. I have always used Nutmeg with french toast in the egg mixture. And have always made french toast in the waffle iron. Argh – I’ve sprayed and not had problems – try parchment as you’ll see in the video at the top of the recipe page – can’t stick to that!

I didn’t have that issue – but yes – if you did – you could spritz it with vegetable oil or lightly brush with butter first
