I met up with some blogging friends at the bar to enjoy the event in a group! Myself, Wanna Bite, Adventure Mom, A Bird and A Bean, A Little Moore and Foodtastic Mom were all in for a big night of food, fun and wine!
Our table was also beautifully set with roses, candles, and more. We also had our special place settings with a wine book for notes, personalized menu and more.
The other appetizer that had me drooling at the thought was the Proscuitto Wrapped Mozzarella ($16). I have to say – it was better in theory. It was good and maybe it would have been better if we’d gotten it RIGHT out of the oven – but it was just ok. I think Proscuitto is very delicate and it was a bit overwhelmed by the cheese and just didn’t taste like the delicate cheesy meat that it is.
With me in the full throws of the Bachelorette finale – I decided that since I was flying solo – someone needed to give ME a rose for the evening and our amazing wonderful server for the night did me the honor. He’s also the same guy who made me some awesome sweet tea on my last visit.
Another appetizer was the Lobster & Crab Cakes ($19) – this was BY FAR my favorite of the appetizers. These were CHOCK FULL of lobster and crab – so good. I could eat this for my entree – soooooo good! (I loved it with the Chateau St. John Chardonnay!)
Along with our amazing steaks – we had a bevy of side dishes to try! By far the favorite was the Lobster Mac ‘N Cheese ($18). This was a creamy almost alfredo-y cheese sauce with crunchy breadcrumbs and big chunks of lobster. You may need to order two of these!
Fresh asparagus ($11) – lightly grilled, drizzled with lemon and sprinkled with the rare fleur de sel (i.e. really fancy sea salt) – really good – but how can you go wrong?
Next up we tried the Soy Glazed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon ($12) – these were definitely tasty – I was so busy talking and enjoying the company that I didn’t really go back to them – so they were good but didn’t grab me like the lobster mac & cheese!
Or maybe this? And yes – I got it rare. Normally I’m a medium rare but with a couple people getting theirs Medium or Medium Well (BLASPHEMY!!) – I had to go all out moooing. I probably like Mid-Rare better but this was still good.
Why Should You Go? The Generous Pour event is only good through September 4 – so if you like wine – THIS IS THE TIME TO GO!!!! Capital Grille is a wonderful night out – and the service is impeccable. Love it!
