After looking in the cupboard, it was pretty clear that chili was the easiest route to go for this recipe! I also had some ground turkey breast and onion in the fridge. Sounds like a plan!
I browned the turkey and onion then popped them in the crock pot. I added 2 cans of tomatoes, 1 can of black beans, 1 tablespoon of the Buffalo Wild Wings Desert Heat spice, 1 tablespoon of cumin and 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir. Stir. Stir. Then I cooked on high for about 90 minutes.
Since this dish is SO healthy – I decided that a little shredded cheese would be okay to top it off. I have to say – this was DELICIOUS! I am a firm believer that if you’re using it the meat in something like this – using ground turkey is not only healthier but tastier! I found the ground turkey breast on sale – so even better!
The Red Gold tomatoes also tasted great! They were juicy and sweet and still firm after time in the crock pot!
