well the recipe has honey not sugar and yes - you could use maple syrup and/or brown sugar instead. On a whim, I looked to see if there was a recipe online about them, and I happened upon this recipe. Now, I am not a usual lover of Brussels sprouts; in fact, until Red Lobster, I rarely ate them. So, I tried this recipe, and I have to say this is the most fantastic recipe! It is so good, I have them as a late night snack! They even taste good without the dry onions and parmesan. However, when the onions and parmesan are added upon serving, it makes the recipe divine! Kudos for coming up with this and know that I tell everyone I know about it!]]></description>
