Ingredients

  • 4 cups apples sliced (4-5 small)
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup boiling water

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375
  • Arrange sliced fruit in Dutch oven sprayed with cooking spray
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon
  • Cream sugars with butter
  • Add salt, flour, baking powder and milk to make a batter (if your batter isn’t spreadable – add a little more milk)
  • Spread the batter over apples
  • In a separate bowl, mix sugars, cornstarch & pinch of salt
  • Sprinkle evenly over batter
  • Heat 1/4 cup water in microwave for 40 seconds. Then pour over ALL of sugar – be sure to cover every grain of sugar! This is where the magic happens!
  • Bake at 375 for 45 minutes (or until the cobbler topping is done – test like you do cake – toothpick in the center – if it comes out clean – it’s done – should be golden)
