Hot Dogs on a Blackstone

Equipment

  • Blackstone 28" Flat Top Griddle

Ingredients
  

  • 4 hot dogs

Instructions
 

  • Partially slice hot dogs on a diagonal and again on opposite diagonal to make a criss cross effect. Do not slice all the way through - just enough so when you bend the dog - you can see the marks.
    4 hot dogs
  • Turn Blackstone onto medium high and when griddle is at 375º - add a light squirt of canola oil to the griddle surface (avoid olive oil - it has a low smoke point)
  • Place hot dogs on the hot surface - sprinkle with seasoning salt or a little salt & pepper
  • Cook for 2-3 min
  • Using tongs, roll hot dogs in seasoning
  • Cook 2-3 min more
  • Toast buns on Blackstone to warm for 1 minute (you can butter the hot dog buns lightly before putting them on the griddle if you like)
  • Remove hot dogs and buns from griddle and serve with ketchup, mustard, relish & more!
