What You Will ❤️ About Blackstone French Toast

  • One Batch! I love using the Blackstone for French Toast because it’s big enough that you can make one big batch all at once! Heck – you have room for a whole loaf of bread with room for sausage!
  • Syrup or Fruit? You can adorn your French toast with whatever toppings you like! Heck – have a toppings bar with syrup, powdered sugar, strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream and more! You could even do peanut butter stuffed French toast!
  • Cinnamon – I’m a big fan of Saigon Cinnamon – it has a little stronger flavor than regular Cinnamon.

French Toast Ingredients

  • Thick Sliced White Bread – You can use many types of bread. My favorite are thick slices of brioche or Texas toast. My favorite grab ‘n go brands are Sara Lee Artesano and Nature’s Own Thick Sliced.
  • Large Eggs
  • Heavy Cream – you can use regular cream or whole milk but I like heavy cream the best! You could even use coffee creamer if you want the added flavor!
  • Vanilla Extract & Cinnamon – these are essential ingredients! I’m a bit heavy handed with both – so if you’re not a fan of one or the other – maybe cut back a little. ๐Ÿ˜‰ You could also add a touch of nutmeg.
  • Salt – just a pinch!

How to make French Toast on the Blackstone Grill

  1. In a large bowl or a shallow dish like a pie plate, whisk together eggs, cream, cinnamon, salt and vanilla
  2. Prep Blackstone by removing cover and turning on heat to medium heat
  3. Take bowl of egg mixture, bread and serving platter outside
  4. Once griddle is approx 300-325º (using laser thermometer), spray thoroughly with Blackstone Nonstick Spray
  5. Dip one slice of bread at a time into egg mixture making sure both sides are coated. Turn bread 2-3 times in egg mixture.
  6. Place coated bread slices onto griddle.
  7. After 2 minutes, flip French toast (should be golden brown) with wide metal spatula and cook for 2 minutes more.
  8. Remove from Blackstone and serve with a pat of butter, maple syrup and fresh blueberries.

Blackstone Equipment Needed for French Toast

Blackstone Griddles are amazing – but you do need some accessories to make your outdoor cooking a little easier! Here is what you’ll need:

  • Non-stick Cooking Spray
  • Wide Metal Spatula – I got this wide spatula for the Smashburgers but it works great for French toast as well!
  • Thermometer Gun – This laser thermometer isn’t a necessity but it does help to make sure your griddle is the right temp
  • Cleaning – my basic accessory kit came with 2 squirt bottles – one for oil and one for water (cleaning). Other items for cleaning are a wide Scraper to scrape excess grease and bits into the trap as well as lint-free towels and long tongs to clean off and re-condition the griddle.

Tips, Tricks & FAQs

How do you store and reheat leftover french toast?

Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, in the air fryer at 250º for 3-4 minutes or in the toaster!

Can you freeze French toast?

Yup! If your eyes were bigger than your stomach, go ahead and place extra slices into a freezer bag and freeze for up to a month.
