Don’t miss these tips to get that Little Caesars flavor at home:
- Let the Dough Warm Up
- Make sure you leave your pizza dough out for 30 minutes before you begin to cook your crazy puffs. Cold dough will just result in tears that wouldn’t be great for our purposes!
- Press your Toppings
- I suggest being purposeful when you’re putting your toppings on rather than just dropping them. You want to make sure that your pepperoni and cheese are firm in their place so they don’t overflow once it’s time to melt!
- Broiling is where the Magic Happens
- Baking is what makes your puff soft, but giving it a few seconds is what makes the top slightly golden and takes this recipe to the next level. Just make sure to stay close, it only takes a few seconds for your puffs to go from perfect to burnt!

Little Caesars Crazy Puffs Ingredients
These Crazy Puffs are similar to their Italian Cheese Bread – but we’re putting them in individual muffin tins so you’ve got a handheld pizza treat! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Pizza Dough – I like to use the balls of raw dough but the canned kind would be super easy to unroll and cut into circles!
- Butter – I love using salted butter in any savory recipes like this one.
- Minced Garlic – Fresh garlic or “jarlic” works fine! Use garlic powder if you don’t have either of those.
- Italian Seasoning – You can always combine oregano and basil if you don’t have the Italian blend of spices
- Parmesan Cheese – We’re just using a tiny bit – so I used the pre-grated as a time saver
- Pizza Sauce – Little Caesar’s always uses their crazy sauce but I just went with Rao’s pizza sauce
- Pepperoni – I used regular pepperoni but you could easily swap out turkey pepperoni
- Mozzarella Cheese – Feel free to use provolone cheese as well if you like – I went with all mozzarella!

Recipe Variations
These pepperoni crazy puffs are full of flavor just as they are – but why not take your favorite pizza toppings and pop them in! Here are a few ideas:
- Cheese only – Little Caesars also sells these with just cheese and they are just as good!
- Sausage – swap the pepperoni for sausage and these little crazy puffs are just as yummy! You’ll want to be sure to pre-cook the sausage
- Veggies – why not layer in sauteed mushrooms, onions or bell peppers?
- Supreme – Heck – make these crazy puffs super crazy and put it all in just like a supreme pizza: sausage, pepperoni, peppers, mushrooms & black olives!
Supplies Used
- Muffin Tin – this muffin tin is perfect for making these crazy puffs. It’s the perfect size and so easy to clean!
- Round Cookie Cutter – these round cookie cutters come in many sizes so you can make sure that you get the perfect amount of dough for each puff!

How to make Little Caesars Crazy Puffs
These portable pockets of pizza joy are super easy to make! You want to be sure you have enough dough so it goes up on the sides for the height of the puffs – and press all your toppings tightly into the cup so they don’t overflow. (Mine might have been extra CHEEEESY!)
- PREHEAT oven 400º
- REMOVE dough from refrigerator about 30 minutes before baking and let it come to room temperature.
- HEAVILY SPRAY a metal muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray
- LIGHTLY PRESS pizza dough out into a large rectangle or oval shape.
- CUT the pizza dough into 12 circles using a glass or a biscuit cutter. Try and use something between 3-4″ so it’s as close to Little Caesars version as possible.
- LIGHTLY PRESS circles into muffin cup so that they come up on the sides and have a pocket in the middle
- ADD 1 tbsp pizza sauce into each pizza cup.
- LAYER 1 slice pepperoni – 1 tbsp mozzarella cheese – 2 slices pepperoni – 1 tbsp mozzarella cheese on top of pizza sauce and press down to fit into cup.
- MELT butter and mix together with minced garlic, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese
- POUR melted butter onto all pizza cups
- BAKE pizza cups in preheated oven at 400º for 13 minutes and then on Low Broil for 3-4 min until golden brown (watch it closely on broil). Skip the temptation to broil on high – it can go from perfect to burnt in 30 seconds
- REMOVE from oven and then remove from muffin pan.
- SERVE and dip into marinara sauce or make a little extra of that garlic buttery sauce!

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
- How do you store and reheat leftover crazy puffs? Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. Be the lunchtime hero and reheat in the air fryer at 300º for 4 minutes or in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. (Way better than a peanut butter sandwich!)
- What are Little Caesars Crazy Puffs? They are hand-held pizza puffs with Mozzarella Cheese and pizza sauce topped with a buttery-garlic flavored drizzle, Italian Herb and Parmesan Seasoning all stuffed into a light flaky crust. You can get them in Classic Cheese or Pepperoni.
- Can I make these ahead of time? Yes! I would assemble them in your muffin tins and keep them in the fridge for up to a day. Just wait to add the garlic butter until right before baking since too much moisture will make them soggy!
- Can I freeze the Crazy Puffs? Yes, just bake them and once they cool down, let them cool completely. Freeze in a single layer. They’ll be good for about 2 months. If frozen, reheat in the air fryer at 300º for 6-8 minutes.
- My cheese leaked out, what did I do wrong? One of two things, the dough didn’t come up high enough on the sides OR the cups were overfilled with toppings. Make sure your dough circles are generously sized and press the toppings down so they’re compact!
