How to make egg, sausage and cheese sliders with Hawaiian rolls
These delicious breakfast sliders are super simple – once you make your scrambled eggs – it’s layer, layer, layer and into the oven! Here are the step-by-step instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350F and lightly grease two rectangular baking dishes. Place 2 tbsp butter in one dish and place in oven while it preheats to melt butter
- In a medium bowl whisk eggs, milk and sazon until well blended. Pour egg mixture into buttered baking dish
- Place baking dish in oven and bake for 10 minutes
- Open oven and remove dish. Using a spatula, pull cooked eggs from edges of dish into the center so the runny parts will move to the edges. Lightly stir eggs.
- Place dish back in oven and bake for 8-10 minutes more. Remove from oven and stir. This should finish the eggs off and any runny bits will be cooked by hot dish and rest of the eggs.
- Using a sharp serrated knife, cut dinner rolls in half horizontally making sure to keep the top buns together.
- Place the bottom of the rolls into the second prepared rectangular baking dish.
- Layer bottom buns with: American cheese slices and then sausage patties
- Spoon scrambled eggs over sausage patties. Top with shredded Swiss and place the top of the rolls on the cheese.
- In a small bowl, add butter and maple syrup. Microwave 20 seconds until melted.
- Brush tops of slider buns with butter mixture over Hawaiian rolls.
- Loosely cover dish with foil and bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Slice, serve and enjoy

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
Of course! I really like making eggs in the oven because I don’t have to watch them and I can prep everything else. If making on the stove, heat large skillet over medium heat. Add butter until it melts and add egg mixture. Don’t overcook the eggs – they’ll continue cooking in the oven – you want to keep those fluffy eggs fluffed!
If you’re serving these Breakfast Sliders to a crowd – I would assume you’re going to have more than these to eat – so figure 2 individual sliders per person. If you’re serving it as a main dish – then maybe 3 per person.
Yes! Make these up ahead of time and use a disposable foil pan. If making ahead, put everything together to the point of putting the top of the slider rolls on. Cover with foil and refrigerate. Glaze and bake when you get to your destination.
Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can freeze up to three months. I recommend wrapping 2-3 sliders in aluminum foil so you have quick grab individual breakfasts.
If reheating frozen sandwiches, let thaw and come to room temperature before reheating. Reheat in the air fryer at 250º for 6 minutes or in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.

Breakfast Sliders Recipe Variations
This family favorite breakfast sandwich recipe is delicious but it’s flexible enough for you to tweak it to your family’s taste. Here are a few ideas:
- Savory Breakfast Sliders – swap out the maple syrup and mix Everything Bagel seasoning with melted butter for the glaze. Or mix together melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard and poppy seeds for another savory topping for the tops of the rolls.
- English Muffin – swap the sweet Hawaiian rolls for English muffins
- Ham or Bacon – swap out the sausage patties with deli ham slices, Canadian bacon or bacon
- Sausage – if you don’t want to use patties, you can use ground pork sausage. Be sure to brown it so most of the pink is gone but don’t over do because it will continue to cook in the oven.

Is there a substitute for the Tropical Sazon? I do not have any or is there a homemade recipe for it?
you can just use salt & pepper like you would for regular scrambled eggs! i don’t have a recipe for sazon. i just like to add a litle zing. you could also add a few shakes of hot sauce if you’d like a zing!
