⭐ Don’t Skip These If You Want That Starbucks Flavor
- The wrap you use – Starbucks uses a chili lavash wrap — and this is where most people struggle. A regular tortilla won’t give you the same texture or flavor.
- 👉 If you can find lavash bread, use it — this is the closest option I’ve found
- 👉 Otherwise, look for a slightly thicker, soft wrap that can crisp up when heated
- Cheese + Pepper Combo – The creamy, slightly spicy filling is what makes these so addictive — it’s not just heat, it’s balance.
- Pepper Jack Cheese – more spice from that delicious cheese – they layer the spices here!
- Jalpenos & Poblano peppers – Roasting the peppers gives you that Starbucks flavor you love!

Make it Spicier
I’m kind of a wuss when it comes to spices – this Starbucks jalapeño chicken pocket is about as spicy as I like it. But here’s the best part – when you make it at home – you can make it as spicy as you want!!! Here are some ways to take it from mild to spicy to FIRE BREATHING!
- Wrap – find a spicy wrap and use that instead of a plain lavash bread
- Seasoning – I like to use salt, pepper, onion powder & garlic powder – but if you like more spice – add chili powder something similar!
- Cheese – I used pepper jack for this but feel free to go spicier – Boar’s Head has a variety of spicier cheeses if you have them available in your deli department.
- Peppers – Starbies uses poblano and jalapeño peppers but feel free to add hotter peppers. Roasting the peppers does mellow them a little – so maybe roast the poblano but use the jalapeño’s raw!

How to make Starbucks Jalapeño Chicken Pockets
These chicken pockets are so easy to make (just like their Spinach, Feta & Egg White Wraps)! I made one big batch of filling and it made 8-10 wraps! By the last couple – I stuffed them a little extra full. Here’s how to make them:
- Roast – Season your chicken and roast with the jalapeño and poblano peppers
- Peel – Steam peppers and cool them. Once cool, peel the tough skin from the peppers
- Chop – Chop chicken into bite-size pieces and finely dice peppers
- Mix – In a large bowl, mix together chicken, peppers, softened cream cheese and grated cheese
- Wrap – Lay lavash bread down and scoop 1/3 cup chicken in wrap. Fold up from bottom, then in from sides and down from top.
- Lavash wraps are typically a rectangle shape. I halved the rectangle and used square shapes and they worked great! This is the closest match to what Starbucks uses (a regular tortilla won’t give you the same texture when heated)
- Heat & Serve – Heat in air fryer or nonstick skillet and serve!

🧰 Tools That Help You Get That Starbucks Texture
- Air fryer – this is the easiest way to get that crispy outside while keeping the inside creamy
- Nonstick skillet – a good alternative for getting that golden, toasted exterior
- I love Caraway – use code foodhussy for 10% off
- Baking sheet – for roasting the chicken and peppers evenly

- Spread 1/3 cup filling into center of wrap. Fold bottom of wrap up over filling then fold in sides and top.
- At this point you can place in storage container for meal prep.
- To serve, place in air fryer, seam side down, and spritz top with olive oil. Heat for 5 minutes at 360º. You can also heat in skillet with light coat of olive oil 2-3 minutes on each side but the air fryer heats more evenly and get crispy on outside without oil.

This is literally the BEST! Better than Starbucks anyday. I love this. I did it slightly different to fit circumstances and family taste.
1.90 pound of boneless chicken thighs which had to cook for roughly 40+ minutes
I couldn’t find a pablano pepper. I warned up the cream cheese so it would easily mix and i did 10 minutes in the air fryer. I also used butter to make the flat bread brown instead of olive oil. 15/10 recommend!
I’m obsessed with the Starbucks version so I had to try this and wasn’t disappointed! This weekend I needed to bring an appetizer to a family gathering, so I decided to convert the recipe into a dip. I added extra cream cheese and pepper jack, shredded the chicken after roasting it, and spread it in a baking dish. I sprinkled the top with more pepper jack cheese and baked it in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 min. I served it with tortilla chips and my family devoured it!
what a fun idea – glad they liked it!!!!
VERY good, I had to switch out the chicken for spinach due to time constraints but it’s 1:1 with Starbucks flavor wise!
So yummy!!
Soooo delicious! Creamy, cheesy, crispy goodness. I added Trader Joe’s onion salt and red pepper flakes and I used spinach and herb tortillas instead of flatbread! It flattered the filling so well.
Hi. I should have asked this before I made it. But do you recommend freezing them? 🫣🤔
you sure can!
