This Blackstone Tortilla Burger is the thick, juicy, messy, melty cheese burger you love but served up on a tortilla instead of a bun and made on your Blackstone griddle! Loaded up with a super simple burger sauce, cheese, bacon, pickles & onions – you will definitely need extra napkins!

What You Will ❤️ About Tortilla Burger
- Un-Smash – I love a smash taco or a smash burger like the rest of the world – but sometimes I want a THICK BURGER!!!!
- Quick Lunch – As with everything on the Blackstone – they cook quickly!
- New Spin – this is a new spin on a burger and on a Blackstone burger – you can WOW your friends with this one! I sent pics to my friends and they were all asking if I had leftovers!

This recipe was made using the Blackstone Griddle.

Tortilla Burger Ingredients
You need all the usual suspects for a classic burger – but we’re going to load it up with your favorite burger toppings and make our own burger sauce! Here’s what you need:
- Street taco sized flour tortillas – when you’re shopping here – get the street taco size so they’re just bigger than the burger! This ups the messy factor – but also doesn’t give you a bunch of excess!
- Ground beef – you could also use ground pork or ground turkey!
- Lawrys Seasoning Salt – when I just want a simple seasoning – this is it! It’s got salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder & more. So much flavor in one bottle!
- Sweet onion – Love sauteed onions on my burger
- Bacon – if you’ve got the Blackstone going – you might as well throw some on!
- American Cheese – always the best melting cheese but use what you like!
- Pickle slices – Don’t you love those sandwich slices?
- Ketchup & Mayonnaise – we’re going to make a quick special sauce with these two ingredients! You could also mix ketchup & mustard together!

Recipe Variations
Burgers are pretty much good no matter what – but here are some ways to switch up these Tortilla Burgers!
- Smash ‘Em – go ahead and make a smash burger instead of a thick burger!
- Taco ‘Em – or make smash burger tacos like this Big Mac Quesadilla!
- Cheese! Change up the cheese and use something more like real cheese – like Swiss or Cheddar cheese
- Veggies – saute mushrooms and pile them on for a Mushroom Swiss Tortilla Burger! Or add sliced tomatoes with the bacon!

How to make Tortilla Hamburgers
These Tortilla Burgers are BETTER than any restaurant cheeseburger you can get! The taste! The messy! The toppings! It’s all there! Here’s how to make them:
- Divide the ground beef into 2 half-pound portions and sprinkle each with Lawry’s.
- In a small bowl, mix together ketchup and mayonnaise and spread mixture on 2 of the 4 tortillas.
- Preheat the Blackstone grill to medium heat.
- When hot, squirt oil on the grill and add the onions. Sauté for 2-3 minutes and move to one side of griddle.
- Add the burger patties and bacon slices to the grill. Cook for about 2 minutes on one side. Turn onions.
- With the long Blackstone spatula, scrape underneath the patties to loosen the beef and then flip each patty. Add cooked onions to the cooked side of the patty. Top onions with 2 slices of American cheese. Finally – top with sauced tortilla. Let each burger cook for another 2 minutes. Flip bacon slices as well.
- Flip burgers so tortilla is now on bottom. Top with bacon and pickle slices. Top with remaining sauce-free tortillas.
- Flip burgers again so 2nd (fresh) tortilla cooks for 30-60 seconds. You might need to hold the burgers a bit when you flip as they’re pretty full!
- Turn the heat off on the grill. Remove burgers from Blackstone and serve!

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat in the air fryer for 4-5 minutes at 250º.
I would not use them for this recipe – they tend to fall apart when cooked.
No – if you’re making thick burgers – no need for the press!
Sure! Just use a large skillet or an indoor griddle.
