This Longhorn Salmon recipe is so easy to make and delicious to boot! Lightly marinated in bourbon and brown sugar with a little Asian flare – this salmon is a menu favorite!

What You Will ❤️ About Longhorn Steakhouse Salmon
- Tasty Marinade – The Longhorn Salmon has a light marinade – it has a light bourbon flavor
- Perfect Salmon – I absolutely love perfectly cooked salmon! It’s actually best served at medium rare which means the inside will still be a little more towards orange but the fish flakes when broken apart with a fork.
- Goes with Anything! – Salmon is great because you can pair it with so many side dishes! Longhorn serves it with their Rice Pilaf and another side – like Broccoli!

Longhorn Salmon Ingredients
Simple fresh ingredients in this dish compliment the salmon – you can make this marinade in just a couple of minutes – here’s what you’ll need:
- Salmon fillets – Longhorn uses skinless fillets but they’re much harder to find. When you cook salmon – the skin comes off easily if you’d like to serve it that way.
- I used a pound of salmon but just made two servings. You could easily have sliced that into four slices. Or you can use 2-4 salmon filets that are already pre-cut.
- Bourbon Marinade
- Brown sugar – you can also use honey or molasses if you don’t have brown sugar
- Bourbon – any will do – don’t use your most expensive bourbon for a marinade
- Low-sodium Soy sauce – Skip adding salt to the marinade because you’re using soy sauce
- Fresh ginger – Fresh ginger is so affordable and has so much more flavor than jarred. The trick is “peel” it with a spoon – just scrape the brown edges off the root. Then grate the ginger on a microplane or fine grater.
- Fresh Lime juice – I always have fresh lemons & limes around – you could use a lemon instead if you needed
- Garlic cloves – I just started buying the peeled garlic cloves and love them!
- Green onions – this is a great garnish – you could also use chives

How to make Longhorn Steakhouse Bourbon Salmon
This bourbon salmon is one of the easiest dishes to make and packs a ton of flavor! I love serving it to my friends and family. Here’s how to make it:
- Pour brown sugar, bourbon, soy sauce, ginger, lime juice & garlic into a large zip-top plastic bag and combine. Remove 1/4 cup for drizzle at the end.
- Add fish to bag, seal. Marinate for 4 hours in refrigerator
- You could also marinade in a shallow bowl vs a bag
- Heat grill pan or skillet on high and add canola or olive oil
- Remove fish from marinade and place skin side in the pan
- Cook fish 4 min on each side, or until center of salmon is 140º when tested with instant read thermometer
- Place 1 fillet on each plate, drizzle with 2 tsp sauce and garnish with green onions

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can freeze up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
You can cook salmon many ways –
– in the air fryer for 8-12 minutes at 375º depending on how large your slices are
