What You Will ❤️ About Red Lobster Cocktail Sauce
This homemade cocktail sauce recipe is zippy, rich and a little spicy! It is a perfect dipper for shrimp or crab sticks. And if you’re eating healthy – it’s less than 40 calories per serving!!! Best of all – you can whip it up in 2-3 minutes!

Shrimp Cocktail Sauce Ingredients
The Red Lobster Cocktail Sauce Recipe is quick and easy to make with just a handful of ingredients! The most important ingredient for shrimp sauce is the horseradish! Here’s what you need:
- Ketchup – Good old Heinz is the best here but feel free to use a sugar free if that’s a diet restriction for you.
- Horseradish – be sure to use horseradish not a horseradish cream or sauce. It’s very pungent and what makes it have that spicy bite.
- Lemon Juice – this adds a little citrus zing
- Worcestershire Sauce – one of my favorite condiments and I added a little extra of that savory sauce!
- Sugar – you just need a touch of sugar or honey
- Hot Sauce – this adds a different spicy flavor

Other Uses for Cocktail Sauce
There are so many seafood dishes and cocktail sauce is a great side for them but you can do more than just use it on shrimp! Here are some ideas:
- More Seafood: Cocktail sauce is great with crab legs, lobster meat, scallops or even raw oysters!
- Fried foods: I love to use it for a dipping sauce for foods like fried calamari, fish sticks or even french fries. With fish sticks, it’s a healthier alternative to tartar sauce! For fries – it’s a spicy version of ketchup!
- Veggies: A very low cal dip for cucumber spears or raw cauliflower.
- Eggs and breakfast: Add a dollop to a scrambled eggs or drizzle on an omelet.
- Bloody Mary: Jazz up your Bloody Mary with a splash of cocktail sauce.

How to make Red Lobster Cocktail Sauce
This is an easy recipe to make – you just stir it all together and you’re done! Refrigerate overnight if possible so the flavors can meld together.
Be sure you’re tasting as you’re adding the horseradish – so you can make it how you like it!
Then arrange your shrimp on a platter or around a glass and serve with your delicious homemade cocktail sauce!

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks. Technically, you can freeze cocktail sauce but it’s going to muck up the flavors – so don’t do it. 🤮
You could use dijon mustard, wasabi or fresh ginger. They’ll each give a bit of a different flavor profile than horseradish but still provide that “bite”.

Authentic tasting, I previously made similar recipe with twice the horseradish, some lemon juice, no sugar (or honey) more than a splash of hot sauce, and no salt or pepper. That tasted too hot and bitter. This recipe is very good.
