Air Fryer Sweet Potato Recipe Ingredients

Ingredients are simple for this one – mainly – you need the potato! Here’s what else you’ll need:

  • Sweet Potato – the time on this will vary depending on the size of your sweet potato. I used medium sweet potatoes for this recipe.
  • Olive Oil – rubbing the outside of the potato helps make the outside crispy
  • Butter & Brown Sugar – I love leaning into the sweetness and adding butter and brown sugar!
  • OPTIONAL: salt & pepper or a sprinkle of cinnamon

Bonus Idea: Use these to make STUFFED sweet potatoes! Once they’re done – skip the brown sugar and add black beans, salsa, shredded cheese, chili powder and sour cream!

How to make Air Fryer Baked Sweet Potato

There no difference for the air fryer vs the oven – the air fryer just makes your sweet potato tender and delicious in half the time of the oven! Let’s do it!

  1. Poke holes into potato with a paring knife
  2. Rub outside of potato with olive oil and place in air fryer basket
  3. Air fry for 25 minutes at 400º for a medium sized potato
  4. Top with butter and brown sugar or a drizzle of maple syrup

Tips, Tricks & FAQs

How do you store and reheat leftover sweet potatoes?

Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or in the air fryer for 4-5 minutes.

Why do my sweet potatoes burn in the air fryer?

You might need to be sure you’ve added enough oil to the outside or turn the temp down 10º.
