Air Fryer Italian Sausage Ingredients
Italian Sausage is a great source of protein and it’s naturally low carb and gluten free!
- Italian Sausage – yeah that’s pretty much it! This recipe is for the raw sausage links in casing. I used MILD Italian Sausage but they also have SWEET or HOT Italian Sausage.
- This time/temp also works for turkey sausage or chicken sausage as well as traditional pork sausage.

How to Serve Air Fryer Sausage
- Hot Dog Buns – I love the buns with the top slit and loading them up with peppers and onions, horseradish mustard and bbq sauce.
- If serving with buns – add to air fryer for last minute of cooking time so they get toasty!
- Over Pasta – slice up and add a little marinara sauce, sauteed mushrooms and red peppers and serve over pasta with a shake of red pepper flakes
- Stir Fry – saute broccoli, bell peppers and onions with teriyaki sauce and serve over rice. You can use cauliflower rice to keep it keto-friendly and low carb.

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
There is a high fat content in Italian sausage so be sure to start with a clean air fryer. You can also add a slice of bread under the tray to absorb any excess grease to prevent smoking.
You can also use a parchment paper liner to aid with clean up.
Italian sausage has additional seasonings including red pepper flakes, parsley, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder.
Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass storage ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or in the air fryer at 250º for 5 minutes. I recommend the microwave so you aren’t overcooking the sausage.
