Ingredients for Quiche Lorraine Muffins
Eggs, cream and bacon are the main essential ingredients to a classic Quiche Lorraine. Those are all here – we’ve also added Swiss cheese because who doesn’t love cheese! Here’s what you’ll need:
- 5 slices applewood smoked bacon
- 6 eggs – be sure to store your eggs in the CENTER of the fridge (never in the door!)! This ensures they stay at a safe temp!
- 6 oz Swiss Cheese
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- salt & pepper

Recipe Variations
Quiche Lorraine is fairly traditional but as it usually goes with quiche – you can easily make it your own with little tweaks.
One thing you cannot change in the recipe are the eggs! And did you know that Ohio is #2 in the country for egg farming? Ohio produces 10 billion eggs every year!
- Cheese – Gruyere is another cheese that is very traditional in Quiche Lorraine. That said – use whatever cheese you like! I like a mix of something strong like Swiss and something milder like Monterrey Jack, Mozzarella or mild Cheddar cheese.
- Veggies – traditionally there are no veggies in it – that said – you’re always free to put some in! You should lightly sauté veggies like spinach, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers or broccoli before putting them in your quiche. If you’re adding tomatoes or green onions – no need to cook ahead.
- Meat – if you’re not a fan of bacon – you can use diced ham or sausage
- Crust – I decided to go with a crustless quiche – but you could easily cut out little rounds of pie crust dough or puff pastry and add to your silicone cups. I would recommend pre-baking the crust for at least 5 minutes so it gets crispy.

How to make Quiche Lorraine Muffins in your Air Fryer
These Quiche Lorraine Muffins are easy to make! Blending the custard mixture adds extra air for fluffier mini quiches!
- Dice bacon and cook for 5 minutes in air fryer at 360º. Open air fryer and toss bacon. Cook another 3 minutes. Once cooked, pat grease off with paper towel and roughly chop.
- Grate Swiss cheese but save back 1/4 cup of grated cheese
- Add the eggs, 1 cup cheese, heavy cream, salt and pepper to a blender and blend on high for 30 seconds until light and frothy.
- Spray silicone muffin cups with a little non-stick spray and pour egg mixture into silicon cups about 1/2-2/3 full. Sprinkle in 1 tbsp bacon and remaining cheese to each muffin cup.
- Place 1” water in the bottom of your air fryer basket. If using an air fryer oven, place a pan of water on the shelf under the quiche.
- Place muffin cups in air fryer basket. Air fry at 270º for 6 minutes. Open and break up top slightly of quiches and air fry for 6 minutes more
- Remove from air fryer (with pot holders) and let cool for 5 minutes, then use a spatula, carefully remove quiche bites from muffin cups.

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
It’s a little debated but the main ingredients have to be eggs, cream and bacon. Later in the life of the dish – cheese was added because it’s become super popular to have cheese in quiche.
Well – I left it out. This is all the best insides of a Quiche Lorraine with loads of cheese and bacon. Who needs crust?
No – you can whisk it all together but I really like using a blender for these because it really injects air into the egg mixture. That leaves your quiche bites much fluffier!
Yes! I’ve found it easier to do them as mini quiches because of the tray in my air fryer and the size limitation. You can use ramekins for a little bit larger quiches or silicone muffin cups for smaller ones.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can place in the freezer for up to three months. Reheating is easy in the microwave for 30 seconds – 1 minute or in the air fryer at 300º for 3-4 minutes.
Yes! If you can’t use all the eggs in your carton before they expire, crack eggs into a bowl, whisk until blended, place in a sealed container, then freeze for up to one year. When you’re ready to use them, safely thaw them in the refrigerator or under cold, running water.
