Red Robin is a classic for burgers and I went last weekend to revisit these fries and was so DISAPPOINTED! They used to be COVERED in garlic – now it’s sparse – which is why you’re losing all the flavor! So my recipe will the reminiscent of the old school garlic parm fries. It’s a simple way to jazz up your normally average side and they taste just like Red Robin fries USED TO!

Ingredients for Garlic Parmesan Fries
Garlic Parm Fries use super simple ingredients when you’re using frozen fries. I used steak fries because that’s how Red Robin does it! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Steak Fries – come on – get real – we’re not making our own fries! hahaha Frozen it up!
- Butter – please for the love of every pound of fat on my body – use real salted butter!
- Garlic – and here I’m going easy on you – I used fresh garlic because I had it – and it does make a difference. But if you have jar-lic (jarred garlic) – go for it! I went STRONG on the minced garlic – so use less if you don’t love it. Who are you?!
- Parmesan Cheese – getting snobby here – grate it fresh – this REALLY makes a difference! But if you have to use pre-grated, use the jarred vs bagged! At least its light and fluffier. The bagged is plasticky.

Sauce up those Fries!!!
These fries are DELICIOUS on their own – but you know what makes them even better? Dip ’em in some goodness! Here are my favorite dipping sauces for fries:
- Freddy’s is known for their Fry Sauce – it’s zingy and more than just a ketchup & mayo mix!
- Go with me here – it might seem a little wild – but Frisch’s Tartar Sauce is fire on any french fry!
- Then there’s the OG – the one everybody can drink straight up – Texas Roadhouse Ranch!
- And why not – throw the chicken people in here too – Raising Cane’s Sauce isn’t just for chicken!

How to make Red Robin Garlic Fries
So easy to make this garlic parmesan fries recipe – don’t hesitate to add it to your regular rotation. Let’s upgrade those plain old fries into the perfect side dish or even a fun appetizer with all this garlic butter yum!
- BAKE – throw your fries in the oven.
- MELT – throw some butter in a small skillet
- I like to use a skillet instead of the microwave so the garlic cooks just a little bit
- GARLIC – get the garlic in there and stir and remove from the heat
- DRIZZLE – take the fries out and drizzle that garlic butter all over the fries
- SPRINKLE – add a little fresh Parmesan cheese
- BROIL – Back in the oven on low broil for 2-3 min
- OPTIONAL – If you want to get fancier – you can add some more seasoning like fresh parsley or Italian seasoning. Or even a little chili powder or cayenne pepper for some spice! I did NOT add salt because the butter is salted.
