What You Will ❤️ About Crock Pot Sausage Casserole
- Dump & Go – This slow cooker recipe is a dump and go style – just stir it all together and you’re ready!
- Cheesy Sauce – This is a really cheesy casserole! With cheddar cheese and pepper jack – you’ve got rich, strong flavors that make an ooey gooey cheesy plateful!
- Very Little Prep – The only prep is slicing the kielbasa and grating the cheese!

This recipe was made using the Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker.

Ingredients for Sausage Casserole
Think about your mom’s funeral potatoes recipe – add more cheese and then throw in some smoked sausage! Now THAT’S a casserole!
- Frozen shredded hash browns – most recipes say thawed but I did frozen and they were great!
- Smoked Sausage or Kielbasa – I love this stuff! Any brand is fine – you could also use turkey kielbasa too.
- Cream of mushroom soup – you could use cream of chicken if you like
- Sour cream – You could sub out Greek yogurt if you like
- Yellow onion – you could also use white onion
- Cheddar cheese & Pepper jack cheese – this is flexible – use what you like – mozzarella or colby would be great as well
- Seasonings: Lawrys seasoning salt & Black pepper

Recipe Variations
I love this recipe just the way it is – but you can make some tweaks for your family – whether it’s adding vegetables or change up the smoked sausage!
- Vegetables – there are onions in there but no other vegetables in sight. But you can add some! Sliced Mushrooms, diced carrots or diced bell peppers would also be tasty in this casserole. Canned diced tomatoes or fresh chopped tomatoes would also add a nice contrast in flavor!
- More Seasoning – This is fairly simple with just Lawry’s but garlic and onion powder would also be delicious.
- Meat Swap – Smoked Sausage is primarily made from pork – you could switch with turkey or chicken sausage if you like.

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. You can freeze up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or in the oven for 20 minutes at 350º.
Nope – you can mix together in a large bowl if you like. I just figure less dishes! You can also use a slow cooker liner for easy cleanup.
