This TikTok hack for Cinnamon Rolls makes canned cinnamon rolls taste just like homemade. This tasty treat goes from ordinary to amazing and becomes a giant, fluffy soft cinnamon rolls that melt in your mouth! And it’s all with only one secret ingredient!

What You Will Love About These TikTok Cinnamon Rolls
I loved how this took canned cinnamon rolls and made them taste like I’d slaved all day in a kitchen. In reality – I threw them in a pan and took a nap for 20 minutes and woke up to the sweet smell of perfect cinnamon rolls!! They get huge! You will need to make extra icing – but I’ve got you covered there…

TikTok Cinnamon Roll Ingredients
The ingredients here could not get any more simple for this simple cinnamon roll hack – there’s only 2 of them! You need:
- Canned Cinnamon Rolls – I used the Grands in a 5-pack because it’s just me in the house
- Heavy Cream – whipping cream, heavy cream – whatever – just grab the thick stuff!

How to Make TikTok Viral Cinnamon Rolls
Again – no rocket science happening here – it’s a very simple recipe – and you can put it together faster than the oven can heat up!
- Preheat oven to 350ºF (or whatever your packaged cinnamon rolls require)
- Spray a large baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. You’ll want to use a dish that is large enough for you to leave 1-2″ between the cinnamon rolls.
- Place rolls in the dish 1-2″ apart. Feel free to leave plenty of room – they’ll expand and fill it up!!!
- Pour half cup of heavy whipping cream over top of the rolls and into the bottom of the pan. You’ll be shocked that every bit of this cream will be absorbed!!
- Bake for 25-27 minutes at 350ºF.
- Top with the icing from the canned cinnamon rolls. These rolls are a lot bigger – so if you want extra icing – here’s my preferred icing recipe to make just a little extra:
- Mix together 2 tsp 2% milk and 8 tbsp confectioners’ sugar

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
This is how!!! I’m hard pressed to find a cinnamon roll I don’t like – but these pre-made rolls are so much better after adding the cream – it definitely made them taste a lot more like my grandmothers!
You can definitely make more than 5 cinnamon rolls – just be sure your baking dish is large enough. For every five cinnamon rolls, you’ll need 1/2 cup of cream.
Well…sort of. I think the rolls taste like Cinnabon because they are super light and fluffy and huge! That said – the icing out of the can is not like the restaurant chain. If you want a thick icing – you need cream cheese, butter and a little bit more effort.
A typical icing has powdered sugar, milk, butter and vanilla. Some folks like a cream cheese icing and will add that as well.
I covered the baking dish with Glad Press ‘n Seal and left it out on the counter. They stayed good for three days. I always heat up cinnamon rolls in the microwave. Who would eat them cold???? But I think the press n’ seal or any airtight container should do the trick. And do NOT refrigerate them.

Variations
I was thinking of all sorts of ways I could jazz this delicious treat up to make them even more amazing and uniquely semi-homemade! Here are some ideas:
- Fruit – if you have a little leftover pie filling, drizzle it over the top of your cinnamon rolls and push the pieces of fruit down into the layers of the rolls. You could use fresh fruit if it was over-ripe (a raw apple won’t cook in time). Peaches would be fantastic in here!
- Icing – get a little fancy with your icing and make extra to really lay it on thick! You can use the cream cheese frosting recipe from my Strawberry Banana Cake.
- Cinnamon & Vanilla – whisk 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and pour the mixture into your half cup of heavy cream before you pour it into the pan. That extra seasoning will seep into your rolls.
- Brown Sugar & Cinnamon – In a bowl, stir together a third of a cup of brown sugar & 1 tsp cinnamon and add to the top of the cinnamon rolls and in between the layers for a little extra sugar rush!
- Chocolate – Add extra sweetness by chopping up chocolate chips and sprinkle those across the top of the cinnamon roll dough
