Air Fryer Steak Fajitas are my new favorite dinner! Peppers, onions, steak and some delicious seasoning – and in less than 15 minutes – it’s FAJITA TIME!!!! (And the whole family will be excited for a busy weeknight dinner!)
I have been craving fajitas and couldn’t take it anymore! It’s one of those things I always have things on hand to make – steak, peppers and onions. I think I like the toppings as much as I like the actual steak – nothing is better than avocado, cheese and sour cream!
Steak Fajita Ingredients
- 1 lb steak – you can use what you like but the best choice is skirt steak or flank steak
- I always pick Certified Angus Beef if possible – their beef is truly that much better!
- or if you want air fryer chicken fajitas – you can sub out boneless skinless chicken breast!
- You could also marinate your steak overnight – the mojo criollo blend has my favorite marinade ingredients
- 1/2 each – green & red bell pepper – Colorful bell peppers FTW!
- 1/2 onion sliced
- 3 tbsp fajita seasoning
- If you don’t have this, a combo of chili powder, garlic powder & cumin will get some of the flavors in there!
- 8 flour or corn tortillas
- All your favorite toppings!
- pico de gallo
- shredded lettuce
- pickled red onion – make your own because I can’t find them at the grocery store!
- pickled jalapeno peppers
- shredded cheese
- salsa
- sour cream
- avocados
- fresh cilantro
- lime wedges – a squirt of lime juice adds so much freshness & zing!
How to make Air Fryer Steak Fajitas Recipe
- Let the meat come to room temperature
- Slice meat against the bias into bite size thin strips
- Place steak, peppers and onions in bowl
- Heavily sprinkle steak strips & veggies with fajita seasoning – toss to coat
- Place steak & veggies in air fryer basket and spritz with olive oil
- Air Fry at 375 for 6 minutes
- Open the air-fryer basket and using tongs – toss steak & veggies – sprinkle with a little more seasoning
- Air Fry for an additional 6 minutes
- You can temp check your steak with a meat thermometer – the best steak is medium rare when the meat reaches 135-140 degrees
- Serve those air fryer fajitas with warm corn or flour tortillas and all the fixins!
How do you store and reheat fajitas?
Keep any of your leftover steak & fixins in an airtight container. When reheating, this is the perfect way for a quick air fryer lunch by reheating them at a lower heat setting (250) because you don’t want your steak to get overdone. Or you can always microwave for 60 seconds.

What to serve with Steak Fajitas
I have so many sides that I love to serve with fajitas! Even though – they’re sort of an easy air fryer meal on their own – I still like to add my favorite sides:

I’m an air fryer newbie and had only done things like tator tots so I was a little nervous about this. Turned out so yummy! Definitely perfect with avocado, cheese, sour cream and cilantro toppings! Hubby was happy!
