Pork Loin on the Traeger is smoky, juicy and tender! With only three ingredients, you can have this ready for the smoker in five minutes. This is the same recipe that they use at the Ohio State Fair all summer long – so you know it’s tried and true!

What You Will Love About Smoked Pork Loin
This pork loin is the juiciest you’ll ever taste! Be sure to take it off at 140-145º – and then let it rest. That is when all the juices are there. Slice it into thick 1″+ slices and you will never make that pork loin another way. It’s perfect for a crowd of meat eaters! The half pork loin gave us 10-12 thick slices.

Ingredients for the Best Pork Loin on the Traeger
Three ingredients and five minutes of prep – it doesn’t get any easier than this!
- 1/2 Pork Loin – Kroger sells the half pork loin – which is approx 4-5 pound pork loin for about $15. To be clear – this is a pork LOIN – not a TENDERLOIN. Pork tenderloins are much smaller.
- 3 tbsp garlic powder – scoop that tablespoon generously!
- 3 tbsp steak seasoning – The pork Gods use a Quebec Steak Seasoning – but you can also use my recipe for Texas Roadhouse Steak Seasoning
- FYI – no extra salt or black pepper needed when using steak seasoning

How to Make Pork Loin on the Traeger
This is so simple – I literally couldn’t believe it was this easy to cook such a big piece of meat so perfectly:
- Set smoker to 275ºF and be sure the hopper is full of pellets!
- Season whole pork loin on all sides with garlic powder and steak seasoning
- Place seasoned pork loin on grill grates – fat side up – and close grill
- This allows the excess fat to soak down into the meat while you’re smoking it
- After 1.5 hours, check pork loin with instant read meat thermometer. Be sure to place probe thermometer into the center of the pork loin. When internal temperature is 140-145ºF, remove loin from grill and place on a sheet pan or cutting board.
- Tent pork loin with aluminum foil and let rest for 30 minutes

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
At 275º – it took 90 minutes. I usually smoke at 225º but the Pork Gods told me you’ll still get the smoke ring at 275º and they were right! So it’s quicker.
Always always always – pork is DONE at 145º. I like to take it off the grill at 140º so it can rest and come up to temp.
There are many flavors of pellets that work in your Traeger pellet grill. I keep it simple and always use the Traeger Signature Blend which is a blend of Maple and Cherry. That said if you’re looking for something specific when smoking pork tenderloin – the best choices are Pecan, Apple, Cherry or Hickory.
What if I want MORE smoky flavor?
My friend Nick introduced me to the wonderment of a smoke tube! It’s a metal tube with holes – fill that tube with Traeger pellets and then light it with a butane lighter. Once the pellets catch fire – let them get started – then blow the flames out. Set them in the grill and shut the lid. The smoke flavor is all those tubes will leave behind!
Store leftovers in airtight containers and refrigerate up to a week – or freeze up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for 2 minutes.

Variations
Pork Loin is super versatile cut of meat – so you can enjoy it a few different ways. Here are some of my favorites:
- Sandwich – serve a thick slice on a hearty potato bun with cole slaw and bbq sauce for a decadent sandwich!
- BBQ Seasoning – mix your favorite bbq seasoning with brown sugar and you’ll have a totally different flavor to your pork loin
- Mashed Potatoes & Veg – Pork loin is always delicious with mashed potatoes and green beans. It’s a classic!
- Leftovers on Salad – If you have leftover pork loin, warm it up and slice into bite-sized pieces and serve it on a salad with lots of veggies!

What to serve with Pork Loin
If you’re firing up the Traeger – you might as well add your sides as well! If the temps are different – adjust time accordingly – a recipe that’s normally at 225º will take less time when you cook it at 275º but still pull in that smoky flavor!
