The Air Fryer Blueberry Scones are delicious breakfast biscuits that are packed with fruit and drizzled with a light sweet glaze. You will love these sweet treats and they’re done in 15 minutes from start to finish!

These scones aren’t in the traditional wedge shape – but it doesn’t change the flavor at all! Light and fluffy – I might have eaten 3 of the 6 in the first 10 minutes they were out of the air fryer!!

What you need to make Scones
Scones are surprisingly simple to make and, other than the fruit – you’ve likely got everything in the pantry for them already! You can use fresh or frozen fruit – I had fresh blueberries today, but I’ve made them with fresh strawberries, frozen blueberries and frozen rhubarb even!
- Scones
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 4 tbsp cold salted butter, cut into a small dice
- 1/4 cup 2% milk
- 2 egg yolks
- Icing
- 2 tsp 2% milk
- 8 tbsp confectioners’ sugar

How to make air fryer blueberry scones
These were so easy to make! The dough takes about 5 minutes to make and they bake in just 8 minutes! The problem is – you’ll eat them just as quickly!!!
- In a small bowl, toss blueberries with ¼ tsp of white sugar. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, stir together dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and sugar.
- Using a fork, mix cold diced butter into the flour mixture until the mixture is crumbly.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together wet ingredients: milk and egg yolks. Fold egg mixture into flour mixture and stir just until combined. Fold in the blueberries.
- Sprinkle cutting board with a little extra flour. Remove dough from bowl and place on heavily floured surface. Knead dough lightly into a 6-inch circle about 1” thick. Add more flour if dough is sticky.
- Using a round cookie cutter, cut 6 scones out of dough. After each round is cut, you may need to reform dough into a circle. If you want thicker scones, leave the dough thicker and only cut out 4 scones.
- Fold a sheet of parchment to fit your air fryer basket. Place scone dough rounds onto parchment paper in a single layer. Cook at 400ºF for 8 minutes until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Carefully remove scones with tongs to a baking rack and let cool for five minutes.
- Drizzle glaze over each scone once cooled.

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
Yes!!!! They’re done in 8 minutes!
You definitely could – it would be more like cinnamon raisin texture. You might want to rehydrate them in water slightly. I suggest fresh or frozen.
Yes! Any berries: raspberries, blackberries, strawberries – all great! Plus, finely diced apple, rhubarb, peaches, etc. would all be great! With rhubarb you might want a touch more sugar since they’re pretty tart – but no other changes.
If you have the icing drizzle – you can serve them as-is. I actually DEVOURED them with butter before I could even get the icing on them. They’re also popularly served with jam.
I love reheating them in the air fryer – it gets the outside a little crispy again vs. the microwave. Reheat for 2-3 minutes at 350ºF.
Store in an airtight container – either zipper bag or glass dish. They do not need to be refrigerated.

Variations for Air Fryer Scones
- Gluten free? Swap out with gluten free flour.
- Vegan or dairy free? Use full fat coconut milk, vegan butter, or margarine.
- Different Fruit? Swap blueberries for peaches, mixed berries, strawberries, rhubarb, diced apples, raisins, etc.
- Add-ins? You could put combos together like lemon & blueberry by adding a bit of lemon zest and lemon juice to the dough. Or Orange zest with strawberries.
- Savory? You could definitely make savory scones and do bacon & cojack, jalapeno & cheddar or chive & zucchini.
- Toppings? Top with icing, butter, jam or even a bit of whipped cream.
