Ham steak in the air fryer is one of the most affordable dinners you can make. Because ham is already cooked, you can heat it up in just 10 minutes. Topped with brown sugar and pineapple – this dish brings the flavor of the holidays any time of year!

What You Will Love About Air Fryer Ham Steak
Ham is just so versatile and easy!!! It’s already cooked so you’re just warming it up – it’s got a smoky deliciousness that can’t be beat. On a sandwich, in pasta, in a fried rice – or just on it’s own – ham steak cooks in minutes and is always tasty!
The other thing I like about buying and eating ham (and any kind of pork!) is that I know I’m helping farmers. All the pork you buy is raised by real farmers on farms in Wisconsin and across the US!
I’ve been to quite a few pig farms – and the advances in technology and farming are pretty cool. It all goes together to make healthier pork for us! Today’s pork has 16% less fat and 27% less saturated fat than pork from 30 years ago. Thankfully – it still has all the flavor!

Air Fryer Ham Steak Ingredients
Ham Steaks range in size from a 4 oz. thin slice to a 16 oz. bone-in inch thick slice! Your cook time will vary depending on what size you have. A small thin slice will only take 5-7 minutes to heat, whereas a thick slice will take 7-10 minutes. Adjust your cook time accordingly.
For this recipe – you’ll need just three simple ingredients:
- 2 – 8 oz ham steaks
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 8 oz pineapple slices

This amazing comfort food meal can also be switched up with just a few ingredients:
- Honey Butter – In a small bowl, combine melted butter & honey in the microwave. Brush the melted butter mixture on as a glaze. Maple syrup would also be a very tasty alternative!
- Plain – If you’re not in the mood for that sweetened ham, leave off the pineapple & brown sugar
- Grilled Ham & Cheese – If it’s plain, add a slice of cheese for the last minute and let it melt a little. Then serve on toast for a grilled ham & cheese.
