You’re going to be shocked when you bite into this Weight Watchers Banana Bread Recipe! I started out wanting Starbucks Banana Bread but wanted to make a healthier version! This banana bread recipe has only 4 Weight Watchers points and you can even make it in your air fryer!

What you’ll love about this healthy banana bread recipe?
Banana Nut Bread has always been a favorite of mine – and this healthy version is super simple to make. I mixed it together in about five minutes! It’s very soft and I made some key substitutions so I could keep the nuts in the recipe and still keep the fat/calories down.

What’s in Copycat Starbucks Banana Bread?
Sometimes we like to indulge with banana bread – like this Banana Bread with Nutella – but other times – we want something healthier! Starbucks shares many of their ingredients on their website – so that’s what I started with – then I modified a few things to make it healthier! Here’s what you’ll need:
- 3 ripe bananas mashed
- whole wheat flour
- self rising flour
- If you only have all purpose flour, you can add 1 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt to make it “self rising”
- baking soda
- cinnamon
- salt
- vanilla
- Stevia (or your favorite WW-friendly sweetener like Splenda, etc)
- unsweetened applesauce – skip the oil!
- large egg
- low fat buttermilk
- chopped walnuts & pecans

How do you make Banana Bread on Weight Watchers?
I modified those ingredients slightly for this lower fat Weight Watchers Banana Bread (4 points a slice on green plan, purple plan or blue plan). There’s no butter or oil in this recipe and it still has the delicious taste you’ll love!
- Swap out oil for applesauce – you save a LOT of the fat & calories!
- The other big swap is to use Stevia instead of sugar – you can buy Stevia in a big bag – it’s very light an is a cup-for-cup swap to sugar and 0 points!
- Also the Starbucks version lists wheat flour – but I used a combo of whole wheat and self-rising flour – no calorie savings there – just provided the right texture.
Once you have the swaps – it’s easy-peasy! You’ll need three bowls though – just fyi.

Instructions for WW Banana Bread Recipe

- Spray loaf pan with non stick cooking spray (or use parchment paper to line pan)
- Bowl 1: Peel & mash 3 ripe bananas with a fork and set aside

- Add baking soda, salt and cinnamon to flour mixture, stir lightly and set aside
- Bowl 3 (should be a large bowl): Wet Ingredients: Combine vanilla extract, applesauce and Stevia with a whisk or an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and buttermilk, beat to incorporate.
- Add half mashed bananas and half flour to bowl 3. Stir with a spatula lightly – do not overmix!
- Add rest of bananas and flour and stir just until mixed.
- Mix together walnuts & pecans. Fold half the nuts into the batter.
- Pour batter into a greased loaf pan
- Sprinkle remaining nuts on top of batter
- Bake at 350º for 50 min. or Air Fry at 310º for 25 min.
- Test center of loaf with a toothpick to be sure it comes out clean.
- Remove from the pan and place on a wire rack to cool for 10-15 minutes

How do you make Banana Bread in the Air Fryer?
It’s pretty easy! If you’ve got an air fryer – cut that cook time in HALF!!! You’ll also want to lower the temperature as you don’t want the top to burn. Just set your loaf pan in the air fryer and go! (Feel free to remove the tray if you need it to set level or need the room.)
I made Air Fryer Banana Bread in my new Paula Deen air fryer ($139 – I got her new electronic one in red! oooh!) and it came out beautifully!
Can I freeze banana bread?
Yes! I like to portion out the banana bread into half loaves. Then I wrap tightly with press ‘n seal and place into freezer bags or an airtight container. Pop the bag into the freezer and you have fresh banana bread whenever you want. Let thaw on the counter and enjoy!
Do I need to keep banana bread in the refrigerator?
Nope – it might last an extra couple of days but I like it room temperature.
