What You Will ❤️ About Jalapeño Fries

  • No grease! You’ll only need a light spritz of olive oil for these crunchy bites!
  • Not Spicy – Because you’re scraping out the seeds, there’s really not much spice to these – but you can make your dipping sauce spicy to make up for it!
  • Quick! Once you bread them, they’re done in just 10 minutes!

  4. Take jalapeno strips through breading stations and place in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Also great to line your tray with parchment liners.

Recipe FAQs

Are Jalapeño fries spicy?

Not really – you’re scraping out all the seeds. But you can spice them up by adding chili powder to the breading or dipping in a spicier sauce!

Can I use plain panko or cornmeal?

Yes – if you can’t find the cilantro lime – plain panko will work. You can also use cornmeal or bread crumbs as well. If using plain breading, I would season with Tajin Chili Lime seasoning.

How do you store and reheat leftover Jalapeno fries?

Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat in the air fryer at 300º for 3-4 minutes.

  1. Oh YUM!! I’ve eaten deep fried jalapeno straws in restaurants, but these look good and because they can be made in the Air Fryer and not deep fried, they look “more better”! Got some fresh jalapenos at the grocery store today so I can make these this weekend. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
PS: I LOVE your nails. LOL!

    2. Heather,
I made the jalapeno fries and my hubby and I ate the whole dish in one sitting! (Big old hogs, we are.) They were so good and so easy to make.
Please tell your “girl” Rhonda (I’m betting she does your nails) that I am an OLD OLD retired hair stylist. I did nails some when I first started out and that was way before they even started doing artificial nails in salons! LOL! Anyway, tell her I compliment her on her work, it is very nice and unique.

PS: I wish I still was in the business. I really miss it, but I got too old, too tired and my feet hurt so I knew it was time for me to retire. LOL!

    3. I’m so glad you liked it!!!! I loved it too – I ate like 3 whole peppers without blinking! hahaha Yes – Rhonda is my Glitterati nail Goddess! I shared her comments and she was so thankful! Her work is internet-famous! (hahahaha)

  2. 5 stars
This is an excellent recipe. I made these and they’ve been a big hit.
Just a heads up: in the reheating section, your instructions say to heat the fries in the air fryer at 3000 degrees. I assume you meant 300. =)
