HOW TO MAKE Frozen bacon in the air fryer

How to make Frozen Bacon in an Air Fryer

I think the air fryer makes the best bacon ever!!!! I like it a little limp so it’s so easy to just set it and forget it for perfect bacon every time!

  1. Lay frozen bacon in one piece in your air fryer basket
  2. Air fry at 300º for 8 minutes – this is basically thawing the bacon. We use a lower temperature so it doesn’t cook the outside pieces more than the inside pieces.
  3. Open air fryer basket and, using silicone kitchen tongs, separate all bacon strips into as much of a single layer as you can. Some overlap is fine.
    • If your air fryer is small, you can remove half of the slices of bacon and cook the bacon in batches.
  4. Air fry at 360º for 8-10 mins more until reaches the level of crispiness that you like. There’s no need to turn your bacon.
  5. Remove bacon slices and lay on paper towels to absorb any excess grease.

Frozen bacon in the air fryer

Tips, Tricks & FAQs

Do you have to defrost bacon before air frying it?

Nope! Just take it out of the package and put it in the air fryer basket.

Do I need to preheat the air fryer?

Nope – I never do.

My air fryer is smoking when I cook bacon – what can I do?

There is grease in the air fryer from cooking the bacon which can cause your air fryer to emit a little smoke. Place a piece of bread in the bottom of the air fryer basket to soak up the grease and this should take care of the smoking.

Does thick cut bacon take longer?

It may take a minute or two longer depending on how crispy you like your bacon and the thickness of your bacon.

How do you clean the air fryer after making bacon?

Well there’s going to be bacon grease – so you can do a couple of things to make cleanup easy! First – put a couple pieces of bread in the bottom of the basket under the tray. This will soak up the grease. Second – if you don’t have extra bread – after cooking – let the grease cool. Then use a spatula and scrape out the bacon fat into the trash – or into a container if you save it for re-use. Then, clean air fryer as usual.

How do you store and reheat leftover bacon

Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the fridge for up to a week. Reheat in the microwave for 1 minute.
