Ingredients for Air Fryer Pretzel Bites
I’ve always got canned biscuits in my fridge – it’s just one of those side dish staples that’s great in a pinch! Now you can turn those biscuits into an all new air fryer snack! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Canned buttermilk biscuit dough
- Butter
- Coarse chunky salt
- Baking Soda
- Water

How to make fried pretzel bites
The longest part of this recipe is boiling the water! You’ll have yummy pretzel bites in your belly in 10 minutes!
- Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil
- Open can of refrigerator buttermilk biscuits
- Cut each biscuit into 6-8 pieces and shape them into a bite sized dough balls
- Slowly add in 1/4 cup baking soda to boiling water
- Add biscuit pieces to baking soda bath and boil for 30 seconds
- With a slotted spoon, remove biscuit pieces and lay on parchment paper or a baking sheet to drain
- Place biscuit bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket at least one inch apart
- Microwave 1/2 stick butter for 30 seconds
- Brush melted butter over pretzel bites
- Air fry at 400 degrees for 3 minutes
- Using silicone tongs, flip bites
- Brush bites with butter and sprinkle with coarse sea salt
- Air fry at 400 for additional 3 min until golden brown
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce

How do you make frozen pretzel bites in the air fryer
My rule of thumb for frozen snack foods is always: SAME TEMPERATURE, HALF THE TIME. I found this to be the case with frozen pretzels, soft pretzels and pretzel bites as well.
Could you make these sweet instead of salty?
Sure – no matter what flavor you choose – it’s nearly impossible to stop eating them!
For sweet – instead of sprinkling with salt – once pretzel bites are removed from air fryer, roll bites in melted butter, then roll in a cinnamon sugar mixture! These are similar to the Air Fryer Chinese Buffet Donuts I’ve made before.
You could also top them with Everything Bagel Seasoning instead of plain salt!

Sauces to serve with pretzel bites
The buttery taste for these soft pretzel bites pairs perfectly with all sorts of dips – or even on their own with just those bits of chunky salt!
- Copycat Carlos O Kellys Queso
- Raising Cane’s Sauce
- Flourless Cheese Sauce
- Honey Mustard Dressing
- Chuy’s Jalapeno Ranch Dip
