What You Will ❤️ About Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

  • Teeeeender! These chicken tenderloins are tender and juicy – they’re breaded but not overly coated and heavy.
  • Quicker! Hey – I’m always up for saving time – and making these in the air fryer saves 8 minutes! I’ll take it! Great for lazy weekends and busy weeknights!
  • No Clean Up! Throw a little parchment in the bottom of the air fryer and you’ve got no cleanup after this easy meal.

Ingredients for Tyson Southern Style Breast Tenderloins

I used Tyson Frozen Southern Style Chicken Tenderloins for this recipe – but you could also use Banquet, Kirkwood (Aldi), Foster Farms or any other brand of chicken tenderloins.

Plus there’s no need for seasoning – these Southern Style Tenders already have flavor from the black pepper, garlic, salt and paprika spices in the coating!

  • 12.5 oz Tyson Southern Style Chicken Tenderloins – you don’t want to crowd the chicken too much so I recommend cooking a half bag of Tyson chicken. If you’re serving with fries/salad – a half bag will serve 4 people.

If you’re looking to make Tyson Popcorn Chicken in the Air Fryer – I’ve got you covered there as well!

This recipe was made using the Paula Deen Air Fryer.

How to serve Chicken Strips

  • Chick + Dip – Whether you like Raising Cane’s or Freddy’s – make your own dipping sauce for these chicken tenderloins. Or grab some honey mustard and call it a day!
  • Wrap – Make up a quick wrap with a low carb tortilla, lettuce, tomato and dipping sauce – or make this Jalapeno Popper Wrap!
  • Salad – Make up a big salad (like O’Charleys California Chicken Salad) and then top it with crunchy air fried chicken!
  • Pasta – Maybe you have a little leftover Fettuccini Alfredo – top it with a couple tenders!
  • Sandwich – grab a hamburger bun and add the chicken – then top with buffalo sauce, lettuce and tomatoes!

How to make Chicken Breast Tenderloins in the Air Fryer

These are so easy to make – out of the bag and into the air fryer!

  1. Remove frozen chicken strips from the freezer
  2. Place 1/2 bag chicken tenders into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 400 degrees F for 12 minutes, flipping chicken halfway through the cooking process. (No need for cooking spray!)
  3. Once chicken is crispy and golden brown, and has the internal temperature reaches 165º, remove from basket and serve while hot with ketchup or bbq sauce or in a wrap.

Tips, Tricks & FAQs

How do you store and reheat leftover chicken tenderloins

Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat in the air fryer at 300º for 3-5 minutes.

Do I need to preheat my air fryer?

Nah – unless your air fryer requires preheating – you don’t need to do it. It might save you a minute or two but it’s not worth it.

Do I need to cook it in batches?

If you’re making the whole 25 oz bag – you might. Depending on the size of your air fryer – you might need to either cook them in batches or add 2-3 minutes of cooking time to be sure they’re all done. But you really want to make them in a single layer in the air fryer.
