This Buffalo Ranch Dressing is my new favorite dressing! It’s got the zing of ranch and the zip of Buffalo. Plus – it makes enough seasoning so you can make more delicious ranch dressing (with or without the Buffalo) later.

Buffalo Ranch Dressing

I started buying these salad kits and the Buffalo Ranch is my favorite! After buying it so many times, I decided to make my own Buffalo Ranch Dressing and it’s even better than store-bought (of course!) I also like to keep the dressing thick so I can use it for dipping too!

Buffalo Ranch Dressing

What’s in Buffalo Ranch Dressing?

First – you have to start with Ranch Dressing! I like to make my own seasoning mix and add it to mayo & sour cream. This gives me more flexibility in making it how I like it. Here’s what you need for the Ranch Seasoning Mix:

  • Buttermilk powder
  • Parsley
  • Chives
  • Onion Powder
  • Dill Weed
  • Garlic Salt
  • Garlic Powder
  • Black Pepper

Then, to make the dressing you’ll need:

  • Ranch Seasoning Mix
  • Duke’s Mayonnaise
  • Sour Cream
  • Buffalo Wing Sauce
  • Milk

Pro Tip

Spice Jar Organization

How many of us hate our Spice Jar organization?! When I bought my new house, I decided to make a change! I put all my spices in a drawer instead of on a shelf. Then I bought labels and put a label with the spice name on top of each jar. Open the jar – find my spices!!! It’s the best!

How do you make Buffalo Ranch Dressing?

Once you whisk together your dry ingredients – you’re all set to make your dressing.

  • In a small mixing bowl, add mayo, sour cream and ranch seasoning mix
  • Whisk together
  • Add Buffalo Wing Sauce
    • Mild spice level – 2 tbsp wing sauce
    • Medium – 3 tbsp wing sauce
    • Spicy – 4 tbsp wing sauce
  • If you’re using this as a dip – stop there – it’s nice and thick!
  • If you’re using this as a salad dressing, add milk 1-2 tbsp at a time until desired consistency
  • Store in air-tight container in refrigerator

Tips, Tricks & FAQs

What kind of Buffalo sauce can I use?

Whatever you like – whether it be Frank’s Red Hot or a Buffalo Wing Sauce that is a little creamier. I used Kroger brand wing sauce – I like it better.

Air-tight in a jar/bottle in the refrigerator

How long will it last in refrigerator?

Up to 2 weeks

How can I make it Spicier? Or more mild?

Mild – use 2 tbsp Buffalo sauce, Medium – 3 tbsp, Spicy – 4 tbsp

Can I use pre-made Ranch Seasoning?

Sure! Hidden Valley comes in a jar you can buy – I always have that around too and add it to dishes all the time.

Can I use pre-made Ranch Dressing?

Sure! Just skip to the step where you just add in Buffalo Wing Sauce – 1 cup of ranch dressing with 3 tbsp Buffalo Wing Sauce – no milk needed.

This will make about 8 tablespoons of seasoning mix

Homemade dips and sauces are usually so much better and healthier than ready store bought. This buffalo ranch dressing would be so good with chicken salad!

      Hi there,

I came across your article on “What’s in Buffalo Ranch Dressing?” and I must say it was very informative. As someone who enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes, your post gave me a good idea of how to make my own buffalo ranch dressing.

I appreciate how you broke down the ingredients for both the Ranch seasoning mix and the dressing itself. It’s great that you included buttermilk powder in the seasoning mix, as it’s not something that many people would think to add. I also like that you suggested making the seasoning mix from scratch, as this gives people the opportunity to customize it to their liking.

The addition of buffalo wing sauce to the dressing is a fantastic idea. It adds a nice kick of heat and flavor that pairs well with the creaminess of the dressing. I’m excited to try making this at home and will definitely be using your recipe as a guide.

Thank you for sharing this recipe and for explaining the ingredients so clearly. Your article was a joy to read and has inspired me to get creative in the kitchen. Keep up the great work!
