This Buffalo Ranch Dressing is my new favorite dressing! You get the creamy taste of ranch and the spicy zip of buffalo sauce! You can use this buffalo ranch as a salad dressing, dip for chicken tenders, french fries and veggies or even drizzle on your burger!

What You Will ❤️ About Buffalo Ranch Dressing
- Copycat – I started buying these salad kits and the Buffalo Ranch sauce is my favorite! After buying it so many times, I decided to make my own Buffalo Ranch Dressing and it’s even better than store-bought (of course!)
- No preservatives – making this from scratch means you have no preservatives!
- Spice Level – because you’re making it yourself – you can make it as spicy or mild as you like!

Buffalo Ranch Dressing Ingredients
First – you have to start with Ranch Dressing! I like to make my own seasoning mix and add it to mayo & sour cream. This gives me more flexibility in making it how I like it. Here’s what you need for the Buffalo Ranch Dressing:
- Ranch Seasoning Mix – the seasonings you’ll need are fresh parsley (if possible), chives, onion powder, dill weed, garlic salt, garlic powder and black pepper.
- Buttermilk Powder
- you can also leave out the Buttermilk powder and use actual buttermilk when mixing together instead of sour cream
- Duke’s Mayonnaise
- Sour Cream
- Buffalo Wing Sauce
- Milk

How do you make Buffalo Ranch Dressing?
Grab those carrots and celery sticks – this Buffalo Ranch is going to be a family favorite! Once you whisk together your dry ingredients – you’re all set to make your dressing.
- In a small mixing bowl, add mayo, sour cream (or buttermilk) and ranch seasoning mix
- Whisk together all ingredients
- Add Buffalo Wing Sauce
- Mild spice level – 2 tbsp wing sauce
- Medium – 3 tbsp wing sauce
- Spicy – 4 tbsp wing sauce
- If you’re using this as a dip – stop there – it’s nice and thick!
- If you’re using this as a salad dressing, add milk 1-2 tbsp at a time until desired consistency
- Store in air-tight container in refrigerator

Tips, Tricks & FAQs
Whatever you like – whether it be Frank’s Red Hot or a Buffalo Wing Sauce that is a little creamier. I used Kroger brand wing sauce – I like it better. If you don’t have any buffalo sauce – you can use your favorite hot sauce.
Store in an airtight container like a jar or bottle in the refrigerator
Up to 2 weeks
Mild – use 2 tbsp Buffalo sauce, Medium – 3 tbsp, Spicy – 4 tbsp
Sure! Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning comes in a jar you can buy – I always have that around too and add it to dishes all the time.
Sure! Just skip to the step where you just add in Buffalo Wing Sauce – 1 cup of ranch dressing with 3 tbsp Buffalo Wing Sauce – no milk needed.
This will make about 8 tablespoons of seasoning mix
2 tbsp of ranch seasoning makes 1 cup of dressing. So the homemade ranch dressing seasoning mix will make 4 cups of ranch dressing. I recommend just making 1 cup at a time unless you have an event.
If you don’t have any, you can make your own by combining 1 cup of milk with 1 tbsp of vinegar or lemon juice and letting it sit for 5 minutes.

Hi there,
I came across your article on “Whatโs in Buffalo Ranch Dressing?” and I must say it was very informative. As someone who enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes, your post gave me a good idea of how to make my own buffalo ranch dressing.
I appreciate how you broke down the ingredients for both the Ranch seasoning mix and the dressing itself. It’s great that you included buttermilk powder in the seasoning mix, as it’s not something that many people would think to add. I also like that you suggested making the seasoning mix from scratch, as this gives people the opportunity to customize it to their liking.
The addition of buffalo wing sauce to the dressing is a fantastic idea. It adds a nice kick of heat and flavor that pairs well with the creaminess of the dressing. I’m excited to try making this at home and will definitely be using your recipe as a guide.
Thank you for sharing this recipe and for explaining the ingredients so clearly. Your article was a joy to read and has inspired me to get creative in the kitchen. Keep up the great work!
