What You Will ❤️ About Sassy Scotty Chicken Salad

  • Ranch! You really can taste the ranch in the Chicken Salad Chick version of this chicken salad – so don’t be afraid to use your ranch! Just don’t add too much or it will not have the right texture.
  • Delicious Meal – pair this Sassy chicken salad with their broccoli salad for a complete meal
  • Your way! If you want more ranch flavor – replace some of the ranch with it, more cheddar – add it in, more bacon – fry up more!

Sassy Scotty Chicken Salad Ingredients

Simple ingredients are needed for this Sassy Scotty chicken salad mixture! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Shredded Chicken Breast – you can use rotisserie chicken removed from the bone or poach your own chicken
  • Celery – very finely minced will make it close to the texture of Chicken Salad Chick
  • Mayonnaise – I always use Duke’s Mayo
  • Onion Powder – swap out garlic powder if you prefer
  • Ranch Dressing – I love to make my own with buttermilk, mayo & ranch seasoning (you can also substitute store bought ranch or use sour cream instead of buttermilk & mayo for a thicker dip style ranch)
  • Bacon Bits – I love to cook my own with strips of bacon but you can use the REAL bacon bits
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese – they use this and I think it stands up well with the ranch and bacon but you can use other cheeses if you like!

Copycat Recipe Variations

Chicken Salad Chick has 12 varieties of chicken salad – here are my favorite of their flavors:

  • Classic Carol Chicken Salad – just the basics: mayo, celery, onion powder…and chicken
  • Cranberry Kelli – Carol with dried cranberries and slivered almonds
  • Fancy Nancy – it sure is fancy when you add fruit like fuji apples, grapes and crushed pecans
  • Fruity Fran – similar to the Nancy but replace the pecans with pineapple (and I liked it much better!)
  • Dixie Chick – like the Carol but add minced onions
  • Olivia’s Old South – adds eggs and sweet pickles

Store leftovers in an airtight container (I like these glass ones) in the refrigerator for up to a week.

This recipe is AMAZING! I did make a couple of minor adjustments, though. I used 2 tsp of ranch seasoning from the packet and I fried real bacon extra crispy, 3 slices. I also used 1/2 tsp of garlic powder. Don’t use anymore than 2 tsp of the ranch seasoning or it will be too much! This is an absolutely delightful recipe!

Didn’t change a thing, tastes just like Chicken Salad Chick’s sassy Scotty. Have made this multiple times in my food processor when I’m craving CSC but don’t want to make the trip!
